I am the Secretary and Field shoot organiser for Osprey Archers. I started in archery in 1995 shooting a recurve, in 2001 I decided I was not getting any better and the longbows at the tournaments were having more fun so moved over to longbow (otherwise known as seeing the light) and became well known as one of the quietest archers on the line, NOT!
When I started in longbow I managed to win quite a few tournaments, probably because there wasn’t many of us. Nowadays I have gone downhill somewhat, and there are a lot of better archers about but I still enjoy the company, and as I told some of them the other day if people like me didn’t turn up they wouldn’t get medals as silver and bronze are awarded depending on the numbers taking part.
The idea of this blog is to keep members up to date with club events, and anything else I feel like writing to do with archery.
